I wish to extend to you a warm welcome to Congregation Or Ami. Our congregation was created in 1947 and we have grown from a small group of founding families to an extended group of 380 families. In 1964, we moved our congregation to Lafayette Hill, and have completed four major expansions, the most recent of which is a beautiful, flourishing education center.
As a congregation, we strive to help bring about a better world for all by emphasizing the continuing study and practice of Judaism, by cultivating a love and understanding of our Jewish heritage, by stimulating a strong, positive Jewish identity, by supporting and stregthening family relationships and by performing mitzvot in our daily lives.
Please stop by to visit with us and introduce yourselves to our congregants, our staff and our clergy. We encourage you to take the opportunity to pray, learn and socialize in our warm and caring community.
We are looking forward to your family becoming a member of our family.
Shalom,
Larry Kahn
President

Often new members are concerned about the costs involved with affiliating with a congregation. At Or Ami we pride ourselves on our flexible payment plans and our policy of not denying membership to anyone due to financial hardship. Please see our Annual Financial Committment Form and our Annual Financial Commitment Categories and Fees. Please feel free to call our Main Office and speak with our controller, Pam Rosen. All financial matters are handled in strictest confidence and Pam will be happy to guide you through our Financial Exceptions process.
It’s been a very exciting time for the Membership Committee at Congregation Or Ami. This committee is committed to bringing together new and experienced members. The Membership Committee welcomes volunteers. We appreciate any help that you can offer – making phone calls, dinner set-up, publicity, or just a friendly face at an Open House! Please call if you can offer your time.
