This is Larry’s first year as President of Congregation Or Ami.He has served as the Chair of the Religious Observance Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee, the Board of Trustees and the Budget Committee.Larry and his wife, Barbara have been members of the Congregation for four years.They have one son, Jonathan, who is a resident in Ophthalmology at New YorkUniversity.Larry has studied electrical engineering, finance and organizational behavior.He is President of LH KAHN Management Consultants which provides services in strategic development, executive development and organizational design worldwide.As Larry is semi retired, he works as a standardized patient in the medical schools based in Philadelphia.He enjoys working in his garden, cooking dishes he has tasted while traveling and photography.
This is Jackie's first year as Vice-President of Worship & Education. She has previously served as President of the Nursery School PTO for 3 years, and Chair of the Nursery School Committee for 4 years. She has also served on Sisterhood, ReligiousSchool and Hospitality Committees. Jacqueline and her husband Michael have been members of Or Ami for 10 years. They have 3 children: Brooke, Courtney and Matthew. Jackie grew up in Metuchen, New Jersey. After graduating from GeorgeWashingtonUniversity in 1986, she attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Master's Degree in Social Work in 1988.She worked as a clinical social work supervisor for various organizations, including Jewish Family and Children's Services, for over 11 years. Jackie, along with 2 other congregants, recently opened "therapy", a women's clothing and accessories boutique located in Blue Bell. In addition, Jackie has run the Culinary Arts Program at Sesame/Rockwood Day Camp for the last 5 summers. She enjoys quiet time with her family, reading, Pilates, and is a big Lost fan.
Beth Waks, 2nd VP
Beth Waks is serving her first year as Vice President of Membership & Community.She served for two years as Chair of the Membership Committee in addition to volunteering on various other committees, including the Religious School Committee and the Mitzvah Corps.Beth and her husband Bob, Past President of Brotherhood, joined the congregation in 1997.They are proud of their distinction as being the 50th members during Or Ami’s 50th Anniversary year.Beth received her undergraduate degree from NorthwesternUniversity and an MSW from the University of Pittsburgh.She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and maintains a private practice in Lafayette Hill.Beth enjoys spending time with her family, talking to people, reading, walking and relaxing down the shore.
Karen Green, 3rd VP
Karen serves as third vice-president.Previously, she chaired the Nursery School Committee for three years.Karen also serves on other committees such as Membership, Mitzvah Corps and Library.Karen and her husband Jeff live in Lafayette Hill and joined Or Ami in 2003.They have twin boys, Jonathan and Matthew, who attended Or Ami Nursery School and currently attend the ReligiousSchool.Karen grew up in Baltimore and graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Maryland in 1991.She then attended VillanovaLawSchool, graduating in 1994.Karen worked in the litigation department at Blank Rome LLP for several years.She currently works at McDonnell and Associates in King of Prussia where she practices employment defense litigation and chairs the employment litigation group.In her spare time, Karen enjoys going to the gym, cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
